Two Local Athletes Earn Spot at MLB Pitch, Hit & Run Team Championship at Coors Field, Home of the Colorado Rockies

Two young local athletes took another step on their baseball and softball journey this morning as Jaycee Housekeeper (softball) and Colter Housekeeper (baseball) competed in the MLB Pitch, Hit & Run Team Championship at Coors Field, home of the Colorado Rockies.

Jaycee and Colter earned the opportunity to compete after advancing through the local MLB Pitch, Hit & Run event hosted by Pioneer Valley Little League. Their advancement to a Major League ballpark highlights the purpose behind bringing events like Pitch, Hit & Run to our community—creating opportunities for young athletes to develop their skills and advance through baseball and softball's highest youth programs.

MLB Pitch, Hit & Run is Major League Baseball's official youth skills competition, giving boys and girls the opportunity to showcase their abilities in pitching, hitting, and running while progressing through regional and championship competition on the road to performing at Major League venues.

"This is exactly why we host events like MLB Pitch, Hit & Run," said Michelle Petrulsky, President of Pioneer Valley Little League. "Our mission is to create opportunities for every young athlete in our area to grow, compete, and pursue experiences they may never have imagined. Seeing two local competitors earn the chance to perform at Coors Field during our first year is incredibly rewarding and shows what's possible when we invest in youth baseball and softball."

While Pioneer Valley Little League is in its inaugural season, its vision extends far beyond league play. By sponsoring programs such as MLB Pitch, Hit & Run alongside the traditional Little League pathway to Williamsport, the league is committed to giving local children multiple opportunities to learn, compete, and achieve their dreams.

Today's competition is just the beginning. Pioneer Valley Little League remains committed to expanding youth baseball and softball opportunities throughout the region, with the goal of helping more local athletes reach the next level—whether that's through MLB Pitch, Hit & Run, Little League tournament play, or other development programs in the years ahead.
