Young athletes across Central Utah will soon have the opportunity to participate in one of Major League Baseball’s most popular youth skills competitions.

Pioneer Valley Little League will host an official MLB Pitch, Hit & Run event on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at the Goshen Ballfields from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The event is open to boys and girls from communities throughout the region and provides a fun and exciting way for young athletes to showcase their baseball and softball skills.

MLB Pitch, Hit & Run is a national competition designed to test three key skills of the game: pitching accuracy, hitting distance, and running speed. Participants compete within their age groups and are scored based on performance in each of the three categories.

The program has been a long-standing initiative supported by Major League Baseball to encourage youth participation in the sport while helping players build confidence and improve their skills.

For many young athletes, events like Pitch, Hit & Run provide a first introduction to organized baseball or softball. It’s also a great opportunity for families to learn more about Pioneer Valley Little League and the upcoming launch of the league’s official seasons beginning in 2027.

The Goshen Ballfields were selected to host the event due to their central location within the region, making it accessible to families from Payson, Santaquin, Nephi, Elk Ridge, Genola, Goshen, Mona, Levan, Eureka, and surrounding communities.

Participation in the event is free, and all young athletes are encouraged to attend regardless of previous baseball or softball experience. The day is designed to be fun, welcoming, and focused on celebrating youth sports and community involvement.

The Pitch, Hit & Run event marks one of the first public activities connected to Pioneer Valley Little League and provides an exciting glimpse into the future of organized Little League baseball and softball in Central Utah.
